Handling
Figure 7.2: PM1 - Project Initialization
The initialization is the first activity when handling a project. It is to define the organizational framework in the Project Manual. The modalities of the project-internal cooperation as well as the modalities of the interface to external participants have to be defined.
Project criteria and marginal conditions have to be established for the Project Manual; the tailoring of the V-Model must be realized on the basis of these criteria and conditions. The result of the tailoring is the Project-Specific V-Model, which is part of the Project Manual.
Within the Project Plan it is necessary to set up preliminary planning which is based on the Project Manual and possibly available Project Histories; this preliminary planning should contain a first estimation of the efforts, deadlines and staff planning until the end of the project.
Furthermore, the project management has to select and make available a development environment specially tailored for the project.
