The CM planning is the first CM-related activity. It is to define the organizational framework by means of the CM Plan. Furthermore, resources like the product library and the corresponding tools have to be made available.
Explanation
The product library is an instrument of the SD and used to administer stored DP information for the entire project. The identification system established in the CM Plan must be adhered to when identifying and referencing all products. Contrary to the stored DP documentation, the physical storage of the HW items is typically realized outside of the SD product library. Therefore, the V-Model does not include regulations for the physical administration of HW items.
