Handling

The sections 2. Introduction of the Configuration Management, 3. Change Management and 4. Data Backup and Archiving in the CM Plan have to be completed within the scope of the CM1 - CM Planning.

With regard to the CM introduction strategy it must be stated, among other things,

the basis on which criteria the configuration units are to be selected,
which product attributes are maintained,
which states the products run through, and
the identification schema valid for all products of the project.

Deviations from the V-Model rules with regard to the product states are only allowed in as far as a mapping of the states and state transitions as defined in the V-Model to project-specific regulations is possible. As a consequence, states can only be refined and not combined or even deleted.

Explanation

For small projects it is possible to maintain the CM Plan together with the PM planning documents Project Plan and Project Manual.
