The V-Model does not include any separate documentation activity. Documentation is basically not contained in the realization of activities. Therefore, the allocation of V-Model activities is not possible, even though the documentation process in the entire V-Model is naturally completely realized.

Apart from the configuration management and the change management of the V-Model, the Configuration Management process of the ISO 12207 standard also handles "Configuration Evaluation". There is no similar description in the V-Model.

According to ISO 12207, the Joint Review, Audit, Verification and Validation are handled as techniques of the process Quality Assurance. However, since the quality assurance process has only been roughly described, an explicit placement of these techniques is missing. Though the V-Model covers all of the listed QA aspects, a 1:1 allocation between V-Model and ISO 12207 is not always possible, based on the general information given in the ISO 12207 and the mixture between activities (tasks) and methods (techniques).

The V-Model always distinguishes between the activities process assessment, product assessment and phase review, and, on pages with method allocations, between audit, review (technical review and phase review), and testing, whereby the reason for applying a certain method depends on the objects tested (software, product, activity, project development).
