The developer has to self-assess the SW Unit.
The self-assessments run analogously to activity SD6.3 - Self-Assesment of the SW Module/Database .
Basically, the self-assessment of a SW Unit should include:
- assessment of the functionality of the SW Unit,
- assessment of the reliability, the efficiency, and the real-time response behavior of the SW Unit,
- assessment of usability, changeability, and portability,
- assessment of SW-internal interfaces between SW Modules, Databases, SW Components, Processes,
- assessment of SW-external interfaces.
When self-assessing a SW Unit in the case of high criticality, the same rules should be applied as in the subsequent formal QA assessment; i. e. the rules in the Assessment Plan, the Assessment Specification, and the Assessment Procedure ought to be adhered to.
