RE.3.3.14 Case Report "Measuring the Source Code" (CRcd) |
|
Sachbericht "Messung des Quellcodes"
Case Report Measuring the Source Code describes the planning, specification and realization as well as the results of the measurements of the available and improved/updated source code. The measurement results also comprise information which of the improved SW items can be reused or redeveloped in the course of a forward engineering measure that follows the reverse engineering measure.
This product exists for the System to be processed. If the software to be processed is an individual SW Unit, then it exists on the SW Unit level.

See schema 1. General Information.
The objects to be measured are listed.
The responsibilities of each organizational unit participating in the measuring process are briefly described. It is necessary to differentiate between cooperating, advising, or controlling participation. The individual measurements are allocated to persons mentioning their names.
The deadlines for the preparation and realization of the measurements of the above mentioned measured objects will be listed.
This describes which environment (hardware, software DP resources, etc.) are required for the measurements.
This describes which measurement methods are used during the realization.
It is described how the requirements for the measurement were defined and how the required initial state is established for the measurement (preparation of the measurement environment, data volumes, available memory, etc.).
It is described how the measured object is to be configured and to be installed and how it is connected with the measured environment.
This describes the individual steps to be executed during the measurement itself.
This describes which measurement results must be documented in which way (paper, electronic media, or others).
This describes how and under which aspects and conditions the measurement results will be evaluated.
for each measured object m:
The measured object is uniquely defined.
This contains information about the person in charge of the measurement and place and time of the measurement.
The measurement results are stored.
for each measured object m:
The measured object is uniquely defined.
This contains information about the person in charge as well as place, date and time of the measurements.
The results of the measurements are stored.
The results of the measurements of each existing and improved source code are listed and compared in tables.
This illustrates which SW items are suitable, based on the corresponding measurement results, for being reused in the forward engineering measures realized after the reverse engineering measures. All those SW items that are not listed here should be newly developed during forward engineering measures.
