8.2.4 Interface Overview (IfOv) |
|
Schnittstellenübersicht
This product contains a combined overview of all system interfaces: external interfaces of the System to elements of its environment (user or other Systems) and internal interfaces of the System between functional units (Segments, SW Units/HW Units, SW Components, SW Modules, and Databases).
1. General Information
2. System-External Interfaces
3. System-Internal Interfaces
See schema 1. General Information.
This chapter combines all system interfaces to their environment. This overview must include
- identification of the interface,
- participating elements,
- reference to the Interface Description.
Matrices are an excellent way to represent these interfaces.
System-external interfaces must not only be documented on system level to external elements like users or other Systems, but this overview must also illustrate how this type of interface is inherited in the System: is it taken by a Segment or maybe only by one single SW Module?
This chapter combines all interfaces within the System that have not already been described in chapter 2. System-External Interfaces. This overview must include
- identification of the interface,
- participating elements (here: Segments, SW Units, HW Units, SW Components, SW Modules, and Databases),
- reference to the Interface Description.
Matrices are a suitable way of representation in this case also. In order to handle highly complex interfaces in a System, such a matrix should possibly split into submatrices (e. g. segment-related or SW-related or HW-related matrices).
