    Handling

    General data administration (if available) maintains data definitions in a general Data-Dictionary, also definitions from previously handled projects. Each relevant project that wants to change or add data definitions must get permission from the general data administration for these individual data definitions. In general, though, it is the job of the project to generate a proposal that will get permission.

    At the beginning of a project, the (project-specific) Data Dictionary is initialized. To do so relevant entries in the Data Dictionary are adopted, if available, from the general Data Dictionary. During the project, the integration of the data utilized in a SW Unit into the general Data Dictionary is realized while supervising activity SD5.1 - Description of SW Component/Module/Database (possibly also in an iterative way). It is important to note which data have already been entered in which form, which names have been assigned, which regulations have to be adhered to, etc.
