Workflow management systems are systems used specialy
for the support of organizational processes. The premise of this work is
that the basic units of any organization are the work process performed
within it. Work processes are made up of communications between a customer
and a performer, and actions by a performer. A work process model may be
represented by a network conecting requester and performers as nodes. The
workflow is represented by arcs in the network. A network for a entire
organiyational process makes it possible to analyse the process for such
things as a redundant communcation. Workflow management systems supports
the building, analysis, and automation of workflow processes. Many of the
issues faced by these systems are similar to those faces by PSEEs.
