| Definition/ Use |
All products of a configuration (software, documents) have an individual version number (examples: a, b, c; 1.2, 1.3, 1.4). Every formal modification or every modification of the contents of a configuration product results in an increase in the version number. The term "version" refers to chronologically parallel versions of a product. |
