| Definition/ Use |
A version of the system or part of the system that can be executed or evaluated (evolutionary prototype), or a tools version to evaluate selected characteristics of the finished operational system (explorative or experimental prototype). Note: To generate a prototype, the regulations of the V-Model do not have to be covered. When integrating the prototype into the operational system it is necessary to clear up which updates or modifications are required for the coverage of the relevant user requirements (in particular the quality requirements). |
