Use
The act of refining a (generic) process model to tailor it according to the specific needs of the organisation. Customisation may be a substancial part of the meta-process. There usually are different layers of customization, at increasing levels of detail and formality. The ultimate customisation leads to an enactable model, - see Instantiation.

Use
During the process model customization step, a generic process model is gradually refined and adapted to a specific domain /Conradi, 1992a/ or usage. The resulting model is called a customized process model.
