| Definition/ Use |
In general, software development does not progress in a simple, linear, manner from application concept to operational system. Deviations from such a linear progression are variously described as "iteration", "repetition", "backtracking", "rework" and so on. For convenience, "iteration" is used as a generic term for all these, possibly diverse, activities, and the management and control of iteration in the broadest sense was the subject matter of the workshop. |
